The short version: Dwelln helps you keep track of home maintenance. Use it for your own home, keep your account details to yourself, and don't rely on it for anything safety-critical. A reminder is a helpful nudge, not a guarantee. Paid plans are billed by Apple and you can cancel any time in your Apple ID settings.

Who we are

Dwelln is made by Acadia AI LLC, Maine, United States ("we", "us"). Contact us at support@acadia.sh. These terms are the agreement between you and us for the Dwelln app and website.

Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Dwelln, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. If you're using Dwelln on behalf of a household or organisation, you're confirming you have permission to accept these terms for them.

Your account

  • You need to be at least 13 years old to use Dwelln.
  • Sign in with an emailed link or with Google. Keep access to that email or Google account secure; anyone who controls it can reach your Dwelln data.
  • Give us accurate information, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account.
  • You're responsible for what happens under your account.

Your home data stays yours

The dwellings, equipment, tasks and history you put into Dwelln belong to you. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only so we can run the service for you: sync it across your devices, generate your reminders, and show it to people you deliberately share a dwelling with. We don't sell it and we don't use it for advertising. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle it.

Sharing a dwelling

When you share a dwelling, the people you invite can see and change that dwelling's information. Only share with people you trust, and remove access when you no longer want them to have it. If someone shares a dwelling with you, treat their information with the same care.

Using Dwelln properly

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app. Please don't:

  • break the law with it, or use it to store someone else's information without their permission;
  • try to break into, overload, or reverse-engineer the service;
  • resell or rent access to Dwelln, or use it to build a competing product;
  • upload malicious code or content you don't have the rights to.

Plans, subscriptions and billing

  • Dwelln has a free plan and paid plans that unlock additional dwellings and sharing. The plans, what each one includes, and the current price are shown in the app before you buy; those in-app details are the ones that apply to your purchase.
  • Purchases made in the iOS app are processed by Apple, not by us. We never receive your card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before it ends. Your Apple account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
  • Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it doesn't refund the period you're currently in.
  • Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their policies.
  • We may change prices or what a plan includes. If we do, we'll tell you before the change affects a renewal, and you can cancel if you'd rather not continue.

If a subscription ends

Your data isn't deleted when a paid plan lapses. You keep access to your account and your existing information; features that need a paid plan simply stop being available until you subscribe again.

Reminders are a nudge, not a guarantee

Please read this one. Dwelln helps you remember maintenance. It does not inspect your home and it cannot tell you whether something is safe. Notifications can be delayed or missed for reasons outside our control: a device being off, notification permissions, network problems, or an outage.

Never rely on Dwelln alone for anything affecting safety, health, insurance or legal compliance, including smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms, heating and gas appliances, electrical work, structural issues, or anything a qualified professional should check. Suggested maintenance intervals are general guidance, not advice about your particular home. You remain responsible for maintaining your property and for following the manufacturer's instructions and local rules.

The App Store

If you downloaded Dwelln from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies, and where it directly conflicts with these terms for that download, Apple's terms govern the conflict. Apple is not responsible for Dwelln, for its content, or for any support or claims relating to it; that's on us. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes to the service

We're actively building Dwelln, so features may be added, changed or removed. If we ever discontinue the service, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.

Ending things

You can stop using Dwelln and ask us to delete your account at any time; email the address below. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is being used to harm someone, or where we're required to by law. If we close your account without cause, we'll refund any unused portion of a paid period.

No warranty

Dwelln is provided "as is". We work hard to make it reliable, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders will always arrive on time. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, or damage to your property arising from maintenance that wasn't done or wasn't done in time. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if you're on the free plan. Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits, and nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Maine, unless the consumer-protection law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim somewhere else.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll give you notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Dwelln after that means you accept the updated terms.
